Investigation of former ITS director yields nothing actionable
Former Oneida County information technology services (ITS) director Jack Flint, who resigned May 1, was investigated by the Langlade County Sheriff's Department at the request of the Oneida Sheriff's Department.

On May 3, The Lakeland Times filed open records requests with both the sheriff's department and Oneida County Labor Relations - Employee Services for all documents pertaining to Flint's administrative leave, his resignation, and the investigation. Those records were released to The Times earlier this week.

On March 8, the Oneida Sheriff's office requested Langlade investigators "follow up on some internal, possible criminal issues taking place within county employment" according to Langlade Detective Sergeant Cassandra Doemel's report.

Oneida County sheriff Grady Hartman and chief deputy Dan Hess expressed concern to Doemel and her partner about equipment and billing charges to the jail which were approved by Flint.

The Langlade deputies, after investigating the matter and interviewing several involved parties, were unable to find evidence of criminality.

Flint was placed on paid administrative leave by Oneida human resources director Lisa Charbarneau on the authority of county board chairman Dave Hintz on April 2.

Flint met privately with Hintz to discuss the matter and consulted an attorney. On May 1, he resigned.

Hess and Flint both told The Times they had received word from the Oneida County District Attorney's office that no action will be taken in the matter and no charges will be filed.

Flint told The Times "This never should have gone to the DA and simple communication would have cleared the issue. I'm disappointed this was allowed to occur."
