The Wisconsin Department of Transportation issues weekly updates for construction projects throughout the state.
As of May 10, items completed on the U.S. Highway 51 reconstruction project between Third Avenue in Woodruff and Tuckaway Drive in Arbor Vitae include installation of the temporary bypass at the northern culvert crossing for Little Muskie Creek and a new culvert near Tuckaway Drive.
A water main crossing with asphalt patch was installed at Lemma Creek Road.
Several new water services were also installed.
Over the course of the next several days and weather permitting, installation of a new culvert at the northern crossing for Little Muskie Creek is expected.
Sanitary sewer and water main lines at 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Woodruff will be installed and crews will patch the asphalt and shift traffic on State Highway 47 back to its prior configuration.
DOT spokesperson Kristin McHugh said motorists should expect to encounter occasional flagging operations.
Traffic impacts beginning this week include reduction of traffic flow to one lane in each direction between County Highway J and Wallace Road and some minor delays between Wallace Road and State Highway 70 in Arbor Vitae where crews will be installing culverts.
Hwy. 47 traffic is shifted between Maple Street and Cedar Street in Woodruff and traffic through the intersection of Hwy. 51 and Hwy. 47 in Woodruff is restricted to a 12-foot maximum width.
