Camp Manito-wish 100th Anniversary: 'Here let the fires of friendship burn'
Editor's note: This story was written by Michael Strasburg and originally published Aug. 12, 2016. It is being republished in observance of the camp's 100th anniversary.

"Here let the fires of friendship burn," reads a plaque hanging over the gathering place in Camp Manito-wish's historic Nash Lodge.

The motto is carved just as deeply in the wood as it is in the hearts and minds of Camp Manito-wish's campers and staff. It's a saying that has cultivated kinship and built independent leaders for nearly 100 years.
